We use the z-scores of shapes or ADEPT-15 provided by the mapTQ platform.
For example, the table below shows the z-scores of a participant’s shapes dimensions.
| Directing | Persuasive | Socially confident | Sociable | Agreeable | Behavioural | Prudent | Focused on results | Systematic | Conscientious | Analytical | Conceptual | Imaginative | Open to change | Autonomous | Achieving | Competitive | Energetic | |
| Leadership | -3 | -1 | 2 | -1 | -3 | 0 | 2 | -2 | 3 | 1 | 0 | -1 | -1 | 0 | 3 | 3 | -2 | -3 |
To calculate the competency score, for example, “Leadership”, we map using these dimensions.
For example, below you can see the mapping for leadership.
| Directing | Persuasive | Socially confident | Sociable | Agreeable | Behavioural | Prudent | Focused on results | Systematic | Conscientious | Analytical | Conceptual | Imaginative | Open to change | Autonomous | Achieving | Competitive | Energetic | |
| Leadership | 1 | 2 |
We calculate the result of Leadership by applying the weighted average and the Gaussian correction, that is:
Leadership = ((sociable *0,333) + (conscientious * 0,666)) *1,2= ((-1*0,333) + (1*0,666)) * 1,2 = 0,76

Once we have calculated the z-score of the competency, we need to transform that score into the client’s scale. In this case, we will use a scale from 1 to 5.
To do this, we must consider the mean and the standard deviation (SD):
Min = 1; Max = 5
Mean = 3; SD = 1
Leadership = (0,76 * 1) + 3 = 3,76

If that competency is also measured with another test, for example, an interview, the final result will be calculated with the weighted average.
For example: If we want to measure Leadership using shapes and an interview, and we want to give shapes a weight of 40% and the interview a weight of 60%, we would calculate it in the following way:
Leadership = (0,4 * shapes score) + (0,6 * interview score)
